The great state of Texas
for a company who waves the flag of saving the environment I find the lack of universal USB-C a problem. I have all kinds of lightning cables in the car, house, work and gym. Now I find that I now need a new series of cables for my new IPP. This is Not a environmentally safe position. If your gonna claim it support it! Just use USB-C and save the world.

I think there's a multitude of reasons, many concerning their consumer base, as to why they have not moved entirely away from lightening yet. Transitions can also be painful as I'd have to carry around both cords for a while, as will many folks.

I've been stocking up on Lightening cables for awhile. I was sold on the idea of the thin flat connector that was easy to plug in. This feels like the abandonment of the HDMI and SD Card Slots on the Macs. I loved these features and not having multiple cables to carry around. If you have an iPhone, IPP, and MBP you have junk drawer like gadget bag. Imagine traveling out of town with that and carrying your camera with other power supplies. You have to plan more for your gadget than the clothes you have to pack.

Really is the charging better? with USBC? It takes me about 15min to fully charge my iPhone 5se and 30min for IPP.

Apple released lighting way before usb-c came to market. Hope they switch there one day.
