currently, all of Apple's displays are widescreen. The used to sell 4:3 aspect displays (on iBooks, eMacs and some older PowerBooks).

They aren't true widescreen though; they are 16:10 (8:5), not 16:9.

Um, 2.35:1 is just one of the standard widescreen aspect ratios. HDTVs are all 1.78:1 (16:9), and the iMac is a little different at 1.60:1 (16:10).

Yeah, but the aspect ratio isn't 2.35:1 however which is the widescreen format.

The macbook's aspect ratio isn't 2.35:1 either. It's 16:10 just like the iMacs.

A 13.3" 2.35:1 aspect ratio screen is only 5.2" tall. That wouldn't really be the most useful form factor for a laptop.

Just put the dvd in the computer and DVD Player will play the movie the way it was supposed to be played, in the proper aspect ratio. All iMacs have more resolution than any dvd requires, so what is the problem?

16x10 is best, then u can watch widescreen and fullscreen stuff comfortably. and yeah nothing is made in 2:35 animorphic style, that would be pointless cus then all the normal 16x9 dvds would be bordered:rolleyes:
