iPad Pro Why can’t I FaceTime from my iPad Pro to my brother iPhone ?

It’s been a while and I don’t have an iPhone but I Do have an iPad Pro 11”. Ok and my brother in Chicago has an iPhone XS. Today we tried a FaceTime call and his FaceTime button is greyed out on my iPad Pro so I cannot click it. And On his iPhone if he tries to FaceTime me he says it rings once and hangs up it never rings on my end.

please help any ideas would be helpful.

Check if FaceTime is active in settings on both devices.

This did it. Looked like it was active but wasn’t, now it works.
