I fixed that problem by rebooting with the mac install cd (by holding 'c' when booting) and then running Disk Utility from the Tools menu. From there can you repair your drive and then Boot Camp will work. Good luck!
Does anyone know of a free defrag utility which can be used for this?
Didn't work for me
I think I messed up somewhere when I tried to remove my previous Vista install with the windows XP cd. I removed the partition and tried to make a FAT32 disk.
Not sure if you did this too... but the first time I made the following mistake (step 3):
1: created the partition from BootCamp, 2: booted into windows, 3: deleted the partition from windows setup and created a new one. #3 is the mistake, when creating the partition from windows setup it was too slightly too big. The way to fix it to go back into mac and merge the partitions, reboot, then create a new one again which is less than 32Gb. Hope this helps.
The best size is whatever you need. I used 15 GB. After WinXP and its 2GB virtual memory file, there's about 10 GB free for apps, which is sufficient for me. 30 GB would have impinged too much on the Mac side, for me.what is the best size for windows xp on a 160 gb hdd ? i was thinking about 20-30 is that okay?
What do you need the Mac OS disks for? You use the BootCamp program to setup the partition and create the Windows Drivers disk. And you need a Windows install CD.does it matter if i use the mac os disc that was shipped with mac?what if i have an earlier or later version.
i lost my os disks, so i have to buy new ones, i was wondering i might wanna wait for the new leopard os..
any ideas?
