Why can't iTune group movies?

I have only recently started importing my movie library into iTunes and I noticed that I can't seem to group movies together in the same way that TV shows can be grouped. For example, I would like to group the original Alien quadrilogy into a single icon that I can double click on in iTunes and drill down to the four individual movies. Searching the forum and the wider Internet I see that this is a feature that a lot of people are complaining about.

Why did Apple do this? Is this a forth coming feature? Am I missing something?

This is something that has been discussed and requested since Apple TV 2 and the iOS based TV OS came out over a year ago. I hope it will come but wouldn't bet on it.

Agreed; this is one piece of functionality that was available on the original AppleTV, but never made its way to the iOS versions.
