Why did my they make a white version of iPad 9th generation? is it because Apple is too cheap to make more than one type of glass replacement for the regular iPad?

Likely cost reasons. At the same time, all other thin bezel iOS devices have a black bezel, so you could say it also matches the product family.

To me it's unfortunate, as that's always been identified as the traditional Apple look. I personally like and prefer it. But the white bezel design is not exactly the most popular these days, as black has taken over everything. And Apple must follow the path of customer preference.

I preferred the white bezel on iPad's because they seemed to hide finger prints better. I do think the black looks better when clean though. My Air2 has a white display but it's getting time to replace it so I'm leaning towards an M1 11 Pro so black screen it is..
