I bought an brand new 1st generation iphone 2 days ago and i unlocked it using iplus.I have used this program again in the past so i trust it.But in this time i forgot to restore my iphone before unlock it.However i unlocked my iphone without a problem. So i am wondering what's the meaning of restoring it before unlcock? Will i have any troubles?

Thanks

Are you referring to restoring or updating?

You want to update your phone because some programs will only work with certain firmwares. Plus if you want to update you'd hae to go through the process all over again.

I m reffering to restore. As i said i forgot to restore my iphone before unlocking it.But i didnt have any problems with unlocking. So what 's the reason of restoring a brand new iphone(otb) before going on the unlocking process?I dont understand because i see it to be mentioned in all unlocking tutorials.

Thanks

You don't have to restore a brand new phone. Just update it to make sure it's the latest firmware.

It's a good idea to restore a not new phone though just so there aren't complication and you are starting fresh.
