More woes with MobileMe.

Any appointments I make and save via iCal on the iPhone
are not being pushed to my other devices?

The only way I can push my appointments to all devices
is to make them through iCal on my desktop.

What's the problem here? Thanks in advance.

I would love to know. I just had a bad experience with mobileme. All my dates from iCal on my iPod get deleted when I sync! They don't get pushed to the desktop!

Here's what you do . I know because I just did it.

If you make an iCal appointment on your iPhone close the iCal app and go to the home screen.

Then open your mail app on the iPhone. It will check mail and you will see the little circle thing spinning around.

That should put the new appointment on your computer.

Appreciate the advice, but no, that does not work.

I have an appointment on my iPhone that will not push to the
desktop despite the fact that the desktop has done a sync many
times since.

This is really bad software Apple pushed upon its users.

There are many who have been posting here about sync issues. I can't get my calendar or contacts to sync from the cloud to ANY mac. (I get the dreaded inconsistent data error message!) I can get my iPhone to sync to the cloud and back. The sync software is clearly 1.0 quality. Network syncing is not an easy thing. There are many variations/combinations of systems, data and network configs to test. Throw in the whole Microsoft Outlook stuff and it only gets worse. Apple needed to spend more time testing ... this should have been rolled out as a limited beta without touching the original .Mac service until the kinks had been worked out. I am sure that this will go down in history as a classic example of how *not* to roll out a network cloud service.

My hope is that Apple is aware of these problems and has
not stopped further development of this product under the
assumption that it works.

I don't think Apple ever stops development on a product they intend to keep making.

I don't know what the source of your problem is, but I've never had it. Have you tried deleting MobileMe from your iPhone, then adding it back on and allowing it to re-sync? The only time I had problems with MobileMe since the initial launch issues, doing that cleared it up; I've no no issues since.
