I hear the Air overheats quite easily. As someone who wants to make use of the Pro chipset, I can’t pick a device that’ll thermal throttle… looks like it’ll be the Pro for me.
I do like the look of the Air though.
I know. The Air does overheat and throttle under sustained load though. It doesn’t need to be a pro to play games!

I am not an iPhone Air hater. I do not look down on people who use it. I like a lot about the Air.If you’re an iPhone Air hater or someone who looks down on iPhone Air users, this thread is for you. Let’s have a constructive discussion about your feelings and thoughts and why you feel this way.
I don’t understand why one would pay $1100 for the Air + battery pack when you can buy the Pro Max for $1200? I get that people won’t always need battery life, but you’re getting A LOT more phone for the money in the Pro Max.I would like to understand this too. I’m enjoying using my Air so far….. only gripe is the battery even with the MagSafe battery but overall I’m happy to have something “different” this year!
ive been using my air for 2 weeks and hasn't overheated once on meI hear the Air overheats quite easily. As someone who wants to make use of the Pro chipset, I can’t pick a device that’ll thermal throttle… looks like it’ll be the Pro for me.

omg the speaker isn't that bad sure its not like the stereo speakers like on the pros but its not bad, and not many use there phone for music without airpods anyways at least i don'tI am not an iPhone Air hater. I do not look down on people who use it. I like a lot about the Air.
I believe having a single speaker, in the earpiece no less, is truly terrible. If you can live with it, great. But it's a massive concession.
I think a single camera also stinks at this price point.
I think the S25 Edge is far more impressive.
With that established, I am very happy the Air exists and look forward to future iterations where Apple will address its current shortcomings.
theres people that don't want a heavy thick and bulky phone and others like me who hate the design of the pro's so much due to the aluminum that would rather use the air due to being more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use with one hand.I don’t understand why one would pay $1100 for the Air + battery pack when you can buy the Pro Max for $1200? Not hating on the Air…different strokes…it’s a cool gadget for sure just not for me.
I know. The Air does overheat and throttle under sustained load though.
The base 17 is slightly more powerful than the 16 Pro so I will consider that phone also.
Depends on your use case. If you’re a heavy video editor or if you play AAA games, such as Resident Evil, Assassin’s Creed and Death Stranding, etc… you’ll come across thermal limitations rather quickly on the Air.Any phone throttles under load, it has just been how we design CPUs/GPUs for a long time now. The Air still seems to outperform the old Pros under sustained loads so unless they were limiting you it should be no problem.
I for one wasn’t limited by my 16 Pro Max so the Air works as good for me.

Yes, all phones throttle however, under a sustained load, the Air down-clocks harder than the Pro resulting is poorer overall performance. As I said, same goes for the 17 Pros, they also throttle because we design CPUs to boost high and throttle under sustained loads. But the sustained performance of the Air in games still seem to score higher than the 16 Pros.
You're also getting a lot more bulk which kind of defeats the purpose.I don’t understand why one would pay $1100 for the Air + battery pack when you can buy the Pro Max for $1200? I get that people won’t always need battery life, but you’re getting A LOT more phone for the money in the Pro Max.

Too many models is the problem. Apple need to go back to the days of just making the best iPhone they can make and calling it iPhone.Previously, if you wanted the best iPhone, you'd buy the Pro Max (I had a 13 PM) and you wouldn't have to think about anything else. With that model, you had the best possible everything: appearance, materials, screen, battery, cameras, etc.
This year... With the Pro Max, you have the same screen as the rest of this year's iPhones. And the screen is one of the most most important elements.
In adittion, you get aluminum, which until now was widely considered the entry-level material.
And if all this were not enough, you have a Pro Max with the most "controversial" look (so to speak).
And there appears the iPhone Air... same screen, titanium and a different/new and elegant look.
These are three key and exclusive elements that Pro/Pro Max users have lost. And as childish and absurd as it may sound, this is pissing off a lot of people.
I think is great there are many options.Too many models is the problem. Apple need to go back to the days of just making the best iPhone they can make and calling it iPhone.
