Why does CarPlay list album artists as Various Artists?

In the music app on CarPlay under recently added it’s showing two albums by The Allman Brothers and one by Bon Jovi with an album artist of “Various Artists”. Anyone know why? That’s not the way they show up in the music app on my phone. I guess it might just be a bug but I notice it quite a bit. Seems odd.

I will be using my CarPlay soon, I will try to remember to check it out and see if it says the same on mine.

I have used CarPlay since 2015 on three different head units and a few different iPhones, and I think it is one of Apple's buggiest products.

To be fair, It is not as bad as it once was, but there still seems to be a lot of bugs, especially when using the third party apps.

This is probably just one of those many bugs...

I checked today, and it doesn't do it on mine, but it doesn't always list the album name. Only for some songs it does.... strange.

Yeah it’s so buggy. I use Sirius and many times when I tap on the icon all I get is a black screen. I have to go to the app on my phone to get anything show up on screen. Also if you’re listening to music when you get back into the car it will remember the song you were listening to but nothing else. When you tap the back arrow it doesn’t take you to the album or playlist you were in it takes you back to the main Apple Music screen. Quite annoying.
