I have an iPad mini 4 and ever since iOS 9.3, every game stutters. This thing used to play everything flawlessly, now I have to put up with stuttery frame rates.

I turned off spotlight suggestions, multitasking, all spotlight indexing, location services. I basically reduced my iPad mini 4 down to its bare bones and it doesn't help.

iOS 9.3.1 doesn't stutter as much as it did in 9.2, but now all of my games have stutter now?

Can apple fix anything these days without breaking what was working perfectly before?

Is 9.3.2 any better in regards to game performance?

Which games. I have a mini 4 and it hasn't stuttered once on 9.3/9.3.1/9.3.2

1. ZigZag (never stuttered before 9.3)
2. Cloud Path
3. Hop Hop Hop
4. Stack
5. Jump Buddies
6. The Pit (sometimes)
7. Jelly Jump

Also, yes I like endless running games. I like to see how far I can get (obviously).

Zig zag hasn't had an update since 2015 but I'm not sure if that's part of the problem. I play asphalt 8, real racing 3, N.O.V.A 3,storm raiders, Assassins creed pirates, and gyrosphere(which did have stutter in previous iOS versions but 9.3.1 fixed it.) I'll have to download the apps you have to see if they stutter on my iPad. But it's on 9.3.2 so I'm not sure if that makes a Difference

Not really a general performance issue but do you also get stutter when game centre logs in and you get the welcome banner? So frustrating, really interrupts gameplay sometimes

I disabled Game Center so it dos t pop up for me anymore.

How does Apple keep making iOS 9 worse than it was before? iOS 9.2 ran like crap for OS functions, then 9.3 was released which took care of the general OS lag, but made games run like crap.

Now, 9.3.2 is out and games stutter even worse (auto-brightness lag??)

Apple needs to get their crap together. This is unacceptable. How can Apple release so many betas and still miss the mark? I don't get it!

Aren't updates supposed to make things BETTER not WORSE?

Anyway, I'm downgrading to iOS 9.3.1 since it works better than 9.3.2.

Too bad... I used to love Apple and their products. Now I'm finding that I'm more and more frustrated at their stuff...

Mac OS X is buggier than ever, iTunes is a mess and doesn't sync properly and iOS is even worse than 8.x.

If you restore once every few months, then yes, you do have issues.
No, I restore once every few months to clear caches and to prevent issues. The longest I went without a restore was 14 months and yes, without any issues.

You make me laugh. You restore to clear caches? Yeah, okay, cause that's a reason to restore.

Are you sure you're not using an android phone and you accidentally stumbled upon the wrong site?

Seriously? Someone is giving you advice and you are back talking? I restore every 6 months to clear the "other" storage AKA caches. It can balloon to 5+GB if you don't. I have zero stutter coming from 9.3.2Beta -> Final.

Don't you see he is only playing games.....so, it must be just some spoiled kid :)

Did you accidentally stumble into a brick wall and lose all common sense? You don't come asking for help and trash talk people who are trying to help you.

Vertsix is right. Restoring your phone as NEW may resolve the issues YOU specifically are having.

I never do a clean restore because of game data and some other stuff like app data, and my "others" is just 1.3 GB around so not a big deal.
Does this mean I am issue-prone? I doubt it.
Anyway, I need to revert to iOS 9.3.1 while I still can.

Boys, You restored and then set as new phone or restored from backup???

If I have to restore as new for a 9.3.x update, then I'm not the one who's doing something wrong. I don't have caches that need clearing.

After the 9.3 betas were over and 9.3 was finally released, I restored to a fresh 9.3 install and set up as new. However, that didn't help. Games that ran 100% smooth before 9.3, now stutter and it sucks.

Also, don't sit there and tell me it's not Apple's fault. If Sony updated the firmware in the PS4 and suddenly all of my games ran like crap, I wouldn't blame the developers of the games, I'd blame Sony.

Apple broke something while fixing 9.3. It also sucks because those small time developers are long gone with my money and probably don't care anymore.

Also, let's say Apple does figure out the problem and releases an update that addresses it, then it would be obvious that it was Apple's problem to fix all along.

I don't get how 90% of my games went from running flawlessly in 9.2 to stuttering in 9.3 and above, but 9.2 was generally stutters os-wide (except for games) and 9.3 is smooth os-wide (except for games).

This. I don't get the idea why Apple need to do this.

Restore from backup because I have an Apple Watch. But it complete eliminated my ''Other" storage and I don't lose any data. Now there are times in the past before I got my Apple Watch that I would restore as new every time. I don't keep much on my phone that I care about losing. Everything can be resynced or redownloaded.
