On the GS3, I have found Svoice to be more useful than Google Now. Especially when it comes to sending texts.

I never really tried it because I rooted my S3 the day I got it and flashed a google based ROM so I only have Google Now which I think is very accurate.

Edit: I guess I could go and try it on my stock nandroid but I can't be bothered to :p

I hate it as much as I hated Siri. I'm afraid I just don't like talking at my phone. Looking forward to trying Google Now though.

I'd be interested to know how you got Google Now on your GS3? I've got a sim-free GS3 but still no 4.1 update.

You can always root your phone and flash custom ROMs. It's what I've done.

It's very slow for me. Google Now works almost instantly (on a good 3G connection).

I agree it's definitely much faster than Siri was on my 4S on iOS 5.

People hate S-Voice for the same reason people hate TouchWiz, MotoBlur, and HTC Sense: it is a bloated, unnecessary modification to pure Android.

Because when I ask what's the weather in my location it shows me Omaha, Nebraska. And I have my GPS and all location settings turn on.

Well I do understand some of the unnecessary bloat. I can't stand most of Samsung apps, but Svoice has been fast and reliable for me. I basically use it only for text and to open apps. I think it's a great addition since stock ICS doesn't include Google Now.

Also I like TouchWiz, it's pretty fast for me.

It's one of the ways Samsung makes you use their substandard software. It doesn't feel natural on an android phone.

Touchwiz works great, but I just hate the way it looks relative to the android equivalent.

Was rubbish on my S3, really slow and couldn't recognise my voice properly. Kept mistaking "Mum" for "Mom" and wouldn't call/text that contact.

Siri can't do "mum" either. Might be because I have a contact named mom though....
