Seems to be an ongoing issue with Apple, iCloud Messages. Sent a couple of messages from my computer while my phone was transferring so my number was not associated with iMessage on my computer at the time but same emails were. The messages I typed there, have not updated on any other device. They exist only on the computer. Why does it do that?

Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of iCloud Messages/iMessage in general?

I didn’t sync my iMessages, but I am not getting notification badges on my messages at all. Trying a restart now.

*EDIT*
restarting the phone fixed my issue.

All my messages are syncing across all devices. My issue is when I delete them from my iPad they remain on my iPhone. Although when I delete them on my phone they are deleted on the iPad???

I am on a new iPhone 14pro running iOS 16.0.1 and iPad Pro running iPad os 15.7.

I have hard reset both devices. Turned messages off then back on in iCloud and turned iMessages off then back on. Still have this issue.

I feel the issue may be a result of not having ipad os 16 yet?

Any one else experiencing this issue?

I'm having issues with my messages syncing across devices when deleting as well. Since I upgraded to the 14 Pro, my iCloud sync is completely busted across all devices.

Messages show up on each device but it is requiring me to delete the same thread from every device (macOS, watchOS, iOS, iPad OS). I have disabled iCloud Messages and turned off iMessages, no avail.

Received iPhone14 Pro Monday.

Phone to phone data transfer worked.

Phone bricked black - did hard reset to get it going.

Messages and FaceTime did not connect to my phone number.

Did Apple Support Chat for 45 minutes whereupon he said he'd shift me to a Supervisor.

The Supervisor remotely viewed my phone screen and walked through several of the same procedures that Chat did.

Got cut off - still a problem

Apple better have an OS 16.0.2 that solves these problems.

No help at all at Apple Support

Yep. I’m hoping for a fix soon with 16.1.

I tried all the usual options to attempt to get my Mac and phone to sync: signed out of iCloud on each, disabled iMessage in iCloud, etc. Still no sync when I delete a message on either device.

I expect that this will be fixed when iPadOS 16 and MacOS Ventura are released later this month.

I have an iphone 13 Pro running ios 16.03. When I delete a message from my phone it deletes across all devices. But when I delete a message in any other device, it remains on the phone. I am guessing that ios 16 is designed to sync properly with Ventura and other ios 16 devices. The syncing of deletions (down to phone) from any device that isn't running ios 16 or ventura seems broken.

I recently *attempted* to update to the 14 Pro after having a 12 pro and the have had serious issues with the new ios 16's and the syncing of my imessage across different platforms (namely my series 7 watch). I have tried all resets, all re-syncs and resets, and even returned the 14 Pro and went back to my 12 pro. Ever since I attempted the original transfer everything has just been so lost- its like all the information is still in my icloud (that storage size has never changed) but the information that gets pulled each time for imessage is different and inconsistent. Anyone else having these syncing issues, namely between the watch's and iphones on ios 16

Mine started syncing after the iOS 16.1 upgrade, but albeit one way. If I delete from my phone, it syncs to my Mac, but not the other way.

That is so interesting! I feel like my mac is the more consistent one, but the link between the watch and the phone is terrible and super buggy

I also am having issues with syncing and messages not getting across different platforms- even with software updated on all the devices to Ventura, IOS 16.1 and WatchOS 9.1- honestly so frustrated this still hasn't been resolved yet.

iP 14 pro on iOS 16.1.
when I delete an answered message, I am informed that it will be deleted on all devices(3 others).
2 odd things happen.
1, I still get audio notifications on the other devices until I open messages on them.
2, when I check the other devices though, the message has been deleted, but it takes a few minutes for the badges to disappear.
Airplay problems persist from iOS 15 on this new phone as well as the older devices.

Same problem here. I don’t understand why this is so difficult. A simple swipe down to sync as iOS uses it in the mail app, would do wonders.

I tried many suggestions but no luck. After a few days, at least one device is out of sync. On my iPad Air in particular, the deleted threads do not get deleted or updated.
