Why does my ringer volume keep changing to maximum setting?

I own an iPhone 6 Plus. Every day I adjust my ring tone volume (using the button on the side of the phone) to about the halfway mark, sometimes a little lower. And every time I do this, a few hours later (sometimes the next day) it's back at maximum volume.

Why does this keep happening? It's extremely annoying.

Perhaps you're accidentally pressing the buttons. Would turning off "Change with buttons" help?
