iPad Why does the flipboard app now have adds?

It seems the flipboard app for the iPad now has adds in the past it did not have adds.

Also it seems you can not use the flipboard app now with out having a account and signing up now. In the past you did not have to have an account or sign up to use it.

Apple should no batter job showing what apps have adds and what apps do not. So you don't have try everyone.

how is Apple supposed to know if an app had ads?
