I hardly posts, but I was wondering...why doesn't Apple give Samsung two million, tell them to hand over rights to Apple, and tell Samsung's board not to worry about the settlement? Then everyone will be happy and Android will be done with a crappy phone maker. I would pass this to Samsung as a solution so they can stop their supreme court hearing, but I don't know Korean.

Haha This can not be a genuine post. 2 million?! If I could convince samsung to sell for 2 million I guarantee I could get a bank to give me the money! I've gotta give it to you though, you really did make me laugh out loud

Edit: I jumped the gun. Sorry OP 2 million + 548 million = a much more reasonable offer

Is the suggestion so that Apple can acquire something it does not all ready have or to knock out a major competitor? If the latter how good an investment would that be, slightly more than $2M which would be quite a bargain, lol. :p

i encourage you to reread the OP, and maybe go here to understand it more...

http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/18/8619871/apple-samsung-appeal-patent-trade-dress-2015

Pretty sure it would take more that $2 million to get Samsung to sell their whole phone division That is what the OP was suggesting, correct? "hand over the rights to Apple" and "Android will be done with a crappy phone maker" seems to indicate that.

Where did the $2 million figure come from?

Is it 2 million US Dollars? 2 million South Korean Won is only about $1,700. But if we are talking about an entire phone division, what is the difference?

Samsung as a whole or just the electronics division? I don't really see Apple being interested in the wide range of products Samsung creates.

And what if Samsung isn't for sale? You can't just throw money at something and expect to own it.

Your thread title is extremely misleading.

I bet that excavator could be a lot thinner! And imagine a (PRODUCT)RED version!

In all serious, Samsung is a massive conglomerate that produces way more products than Apple could ever dream of. They are massively bigger than Apple. Seriously, they are with trillions of dollars. Their telecommunications business is worth about 21 billion dollars but I doubt that it’s for sale.

I own a Samsung microwave but I seriously don't want it to get any thinner... I also own a Samsung TV set, and as mentioned above they make just about everything. And why would Apple buy their mobile division? To close it down? It's not like Apple need to produce Android phones with declining sales and low profit margins... if they wanted to, they'd be doing it by now.

I hope Apple does buy Samsung. I can enjoy over spending on

iFridge
iWashingmachine
iDryer
and so much more.

Maybe Samsung should buy Apple.

Ugh. Besides the obvious hardcore fanboyism behind this post :p Apple buying Samsung would be good for nobody. Android fans don't want Apple running Samsung's products and Apple fans don't want Samsung's products.

Samsung is an alright company. :) Buying them to shut them down would be monopolizing to the MAX! Haha :D
