Why doesn’t my phone try to correct spelling?

Sometimes it just doesn’t even bother! See this screenshot, no wavy line under my attempt at “yesterday” and when I manually select the word, no “replace” option... anyone know why?

There is auto correct and text replacement, in the settings menu.
General- keyboard.

Predictive can have heavy influences on the outcome.

Not sure if this will fix your issue, somewhere to start though perhaps?

maybe turn off text replacement?, it may trigger auto correct or vice versa? just a thought.
