A small inconsistency that’s rather frustrating. Does anyone know why something like this would be limited to only MacOS?

Android, Samsung Internet and Chrome will. Why is Safari not when it does on Mac?

And why no widget? Because that would be logical.

Add more memory, let me choose the performance level, too many apps have background refresh throttling. And bigger battery.

My iPad pro 10.5 has 4GB and yet A10 series but it does load apps better, runs smoother than my X.
I don't buy Apple's claims, it may be optomization is good memory/battery but at the cost of what having more and better.
Even my use and comparisons of S8+ vs Note 8 is noticeable in some situations.

Curious the use case of push notifications for safari on iOS. Any examples?

I can say that sites on macOS safari as it is drive me insane asking me to turn on notifications. I don’t remember asking you a god damn thing!

Lastly, iOS has enough notifications as it is. Last thing I want is a website pushing more crap I don’t need to my phone. Nope, nope and NOPE!

Even on Mac, I never accept notifications from website. Its completely useless IMO.

This is a VERY relevant question!

I try to install as few apps on my iPhone as possible to try to avoid conflicts and use of too much system resources. Many many apps can be skipped since the same information can be found on their respective website. BUT—and there’s your good question—no notifications. Aargh!

MacOS doesn’t have the same neat way to use apps and maybe that’s why Safari offer notifications on macOS.

As things are now, we are pretty much forced to install tons of apps to get notifications. Too bad since that’s what mostly causes problems with iOS.

Agree with you generally btw, but as a workaround, I know MacRumors is available in News but don’t really use that app. Is it possible to get notifications for MacRumors through that in the same way as MacOS or will it only notify of a few based on popularity etc?

For most "channels" yes, you can pick and choose which ones can send you notifications just like safari on macOS. However for some reason, macrumors, does not have that option. Every other site I have does.
