The iPhone 8 offers wireless charging, a modern fast processor, a sleek glass design, 3D Touch, comparability with basically 100% of current apps, and will run well for the next three years. Plus it is priced pretty well. Isn’t this solution for the smaller phone crowd?

I have an iPhone 7.

Some reasons I can think of:
- it looks dated. Let’s face it, whether one admits it or not, many here buy phones for the looks, as a status symbol that they do have the latest gadget.
- it’s not $250. Yeah it’s cheaper, but the same people wanting smaller phones probably expected the price to be even less, because that’s what our brain can measure.
- because it’s the internet. People keep whining they want smaller phones, yet I’m sure companies like Apple, Sony, etc look at their actual numbers, and it probably doesn’t justify the cost into making one.

I guess that many people who want the smallest iPhone get that model already, but if you’re coming from the SE form factor that’s still a significantly bigger device.

I really dislike the 6, 6s, 7, and 8 design. I don't like the rounded edges.

At its launch I got an iPhone 6s Plus, even though I hated the design. I got it because I thought I would like the larger screen, and while I did like it in certain scenarios, it was just a hassle most of the time.

So I sold it and got an SE.

You currently can get two unlocked 128GB SEs, one to use and an additional one to keep as a spare for the price of just one unlocked 64GB iPhone 8.

To put this in perspective, you could get a family of five brand new 128GB iPhone SE ($299*5=$1,495), for cheaper than the price of only two iPhone 8 with storage of at least 128GB ($749*2=$1,498)

Personally, I never liked 3D Touch and had it disabled on my old iPhone.

I have an iPhone 7. It’s the same physical size as the 8. My old iPhone 5 was the perfect size for me. Fit comfortably in my pocket, could hold and type comfortably with one hand. The iPhone 7 is just slightly larger, but it’s enough to make it more awkward to use without involving your second hand. And sometimes it’s nice to be able to multitask. To be able to continue working with my left hand while answering a quick question or text on the phone with my right hand. The iPhone 5 was perfect in that area for me.

Unfortunately, other circumstances caused an unexpected need to upgrade (stolen equipment).

If you hold your iPhone SE in one hand and the 4.7 inch iPhone in the other, it’s a *massive *difference. Not necessarily just because of the weight of the phone, but overall the comfortability using both phones one-handed is favorable to the SE. That’s what consumers wanted with the SE, one-handed operability and it’s not bulky inside the pocket. The trade-off being, consumers are willing to use the iPhone SE in trade of not having all the latest technology that the more expensive iPhones include.
