Apple Card Why don't Shell gas stations accept Apple Card?

It's really weird. When I try my Apple Card at Shell, any shell, it says "DECLINED" and fails to go through. But when I use my other credit card, it works fine. I'm using Apple Pay in both cases.

Has anyone else seen this? Why wouldn't Shell take Apple Card? Shouldn't it work like any other MasterCard?

I use my debit card for gas at shell using apple pay without issue. Dont know why Apple Card would be any different

Tap, select fuel type, pump and go.

Sometimes the thickness of the physical card messes with card readers. I have a few metal cards and Apple’s is by far the thickest.
