Hi, I installed a 3rd party app to change the resolutions of the MacBook Pro M3 Pro 16" to higher one. Don't remember the full name but it has "Display" in its name. Maybe this is unrelated but after using the Mac for a few days, I keep getting a pop up windows asking me to install something related to XCode.

I erased the disk using disk utilities. Then, I reinstalled Sequoia again. Upon completion, Macbook Pro M3 Pro 16" rebooted itself and asked for the country. However, the letters are so small as if it were like 4K resolutions on a 16" screen. What is wrong? I cannot understand why the resolution is so high (very small letters) especially after I erased the disk and reinstalled the OS. How do change it back to default font size before I go through the setup process?

This doesn't answer your question, but that was unnecessary. Doing "Reset All Content and Settings" (via System Settings) is sufficient to restore the OS.

Maybe something has changed. I don't see this option so I continued to press the power button to get to disk utilities. After erase and restart, it could not find a startup disk so I had to reinstall the OS. During installation, it says Sonoma will be installed even I got the Mac about ten days ago. Shouldn’t it be Sequoia?

Another strange thing is after going through the normal setup procedure, the letters are still very small. I went to Displays and it says 3456x2234 is the default resolution.

Everymac.com is a good source for specs and info on apple products
It says: Pre-Installed MacOS: macOS 14.1, so Sonoma.

Edit: I see that I've linked to a 14" model there, but the two 16" M3 Pros that are listed also came around the same time, and therefore has the same earliest installable macOS version: 14.1:

Nevermind the 'default resolution', you must find the resolution that's right for you.
