The reason is simple. I blackout in my lofted bed of my fraternity house with my laptop, I woke up with my room mate asking me what I did to my computer. The lcd screens cracked, APP wouldn't fix it. To fix it it would of cost $800, plus I think the mother board on it got screwed up. So after I transfer my data to my new Imac I plan on disecting my poor old macbook. Well I just figured I share a story and a good reson to get another mac.

What were you doing before you blacked out? Was there alcohol/drugs involved? How did the screen get cracked? Did you simply fall asleep on the computer?

I hope you don't have sleep-walking issues - the iMac might be next!

Alcohol and laptops generally don't mix well

Sorry, I can't accept that as an excuse.

Well I am not cause I am not an english major. I am an EE major. I know math and KVL not english.

I hate not knowing wtf I did the night before. One of my buddie's macbooks got stolen the other night at a party, which realllllly sucks.

just buy a cinema display and you have a very nice desktop

That would work except for the fact it takes itunes like 5 mins to come up on it. I can still see the top third of my screen. Everything I have tried on it runs extremly slow. I think the fall damged a lot of other things other then the screen. It also took me a long time to get to the migration assistant. I had to guess where the buttons were on the screen. Hopefully all my information transfers over.
