This is why we should have the option to use our own cloudy syncing services - icloud is up, dropbox has never failed me, but Day One decided ( in 2016, if I remember correctly ) to take those options away from paid users.

I stopped using the app then. Much like every app wants you to pay a subscription, many want you to use their cloud syncing service, which stinks. It takes away convenience by forcing you to use a thousand different services instead of one or two more reliable ones.

I use the notes app on my phone now. Not quite as much gloss, but it serves the same purpose.

Wow. I'm glad I encrypt my primary journal. My ID doesn't fall in the range of those 106 people. As a longtime Day One user, I'm glad they're being honest. I'm glad I encrypt. But damn. lol.

Sync was down for 4 days?+. Since I only input data on my Macbook, didn't really affect me. Sure is nice having my journal synced between my iPhone and my Mac. But that cost is sure high, especially if you don't encrypt.
