Recently I left a few ratings and reviews on some iOS and macOS apps. They show up in the Ratings & Reviews section of Account Settings, however few hours later I find ALL of them have somehow disappeared.

Why is Apple doing this? I have never left any fake or inappropriate reviews, all my ratings and reviews were as accurate as possible. This also questions how accurate App Store ratings really are...

Did the reviews at first show up in the App Store? It can take up to 24 hours for the reviews to appear in the App Store. In addition apps that have too few reviews (less then 5 or 6) don't show any reviews for some odd reason even though you or I wrote one. I never understood that. I guess it will appear as soon as 5 or 6 people from the same country wrote a review in such an occassion.

I hear if the developer request a review taken down they will do it but I’m not sure if that’s true. Were the reviews negative? If so that’s probably your answer.

No but they were there if you open Account Settings and check your Ratings & Reviews list. After few hours they have disappeared.

Some are negative but for valid reasons. Even ones I just click 5 star for and don't write anything end up disappearing from the "Ratings and Reviews" list in Account Settings after a few hours.

Same problem. I’ve had my new iPad for a month and I’ve probably attempted to rate around 10-15 different apps. Only one rating hasn’t mysteriously disappeared. It doesn’t matter if my rating is 5 stars or 1 star, it doesn’t matter if I write a review, and the ones I do write are never disrespectful in any way. After a few hours they’re just gone, poof.

Yesterday I rated two apps on the Mac App Store. After rating I checked the account settings and it lists I have now rated 6 apps on the macOS App Store. Checked again next day and it went back down to 4...

@infinitedreams I created an account here to post this same question; I'm also having problems posting reviews. I have one from 2 months ago, still showing, but I tried to leave one two days ago and now it's gone. It's a big pain because the review was pretty long... I feel like I wasted my time.

I'm on IOS 15.5..

Anybody else?

No fix yet it seems. I tried leaving a few more ratings last night after updating to 15.6.1 and they’re already gone.

There's a way to check why they are removed... and it makes no sense tbh

You will need to request your data at privacy.apple.com, wait a week for your data to be prepared and then download "Apple Media Services Information".

The reviews that have disappeared give a removal reason of "Other - 10001"... what does that even mean??

One review of mine was rejected by the profanity filter... but that review had no inappropriate language. But I did mention Android on it which may be a part of the profanity filter.

That's a very clever way of diagnosing this issue. Unfortunate to see the reason as "Other", basically no explanation at all.

The reviews I was writing ranged in length from a few sentences to a few words. There wasn't any profanity used or mention of Android. I think my device might be flagged.. I still have a review from 2 months ago, that doesn't get erased each time my new reviews do.

It's actually been happening since forever. I switched to iOS in 2017 and started to leave reviews since then. Some of them from that time were removed for the "other" reason. It's basically a 50/50 situation.
