i don't understand how Apple Music still retails at £9.99 per month here for a service that is about 30% of the US.

Here is a screen from an album in the UK. That's all I could fit in one screen. The rest of the album is the same.

I guess a lot of those tracks aren't available on Apple Music solely down to the publisher(s) of those tracks and maybe the recording artists?

Obviously over the past few years as streaming has surged in popularity there have been several musicians who aren't happy with the royalties streaming music generates which might explain the greyed out tracks.

Then don't even bother to add the album then. I found two albums one a soundtrack and another a greatest hit will all grayed out tracks except one that was playable. A real tease, don't bother to add it and pretend that you have the album.

Change your region to US, buy 1 year Apple Music for 99$ (80£), for purchases buy gift cards. It is much cheaper and you can get gift cards directly from Apple.com
