Can't believe people still have bids on mobileme on ebay.

Shouldn't ebay use an executive order and end the auctions becaue of apple's announcement that they wont take any new mobile subscriptions?

Or is ebay so greeding they just want their 7-10% ebay plus paypal fees?

Ebay needs to take responsibility here. Because its their marketplace.

They are letting sellers sell something that is no longer available (subscrptions)

Unless the sellers clearly state people will be bidding on a box with a code that no longer works.

Again as I said, it takes the auctions being reported before eBay will do something about it. Once they are reported, eBay should do the right thing.

Buy one on the cheap and get a refund from Apple at full price :)

'I purchased a MobileMe box and have not used the activation code inside. Can I get refund for it?
Yes. If you have an unused activation code from a MobileMe box, you can submit a refund request.'

All this is less than two days old and things are still being worked out. eBay is notoriously known for having slow, unresponsive customer support. This would be a lot to expect of eBay right now.

But more importantly, why wouldn't you be able to sell a MobileMe box? There are plenty of vintage/antique tech items that do not work, but people want them anyways. Who is to say they cannot be sold (assuming they are not illegal/against policy).

U need original receipt from apple store or online store. Or authorithize resellers. Ebay is not authorized reseller.

That's for unactivated code still in box.

Now if activated code but it hasn't taken effect since ur renewal is not up yet and its sitting in ur account. Than yes apple will refund you. However those currently sold on ebay are unactivated and not eligibe for refund except by original store receipt. Not ebay receipt.

Like what happened with free apple bumpers last year. Ebay resellers double dip. They got money from selling apple bumpers plus apple refunded them money.

Why is it eBay's responsibility?

I see auctions for OSX 10.5 and older products that are no longer available. Its capitlism.
