My MBP has been stuck in Shanghai for 3 days now, and someone else I know who is having a MBP shipped is also in the same situation as me, but a day behind (Is his has been stuck there for 4 days now).

It still only says "Shipped From Originating Depot" and has done since the 2nd/3rd of Nov. Its coming with TNT. Im just wondering if anyone elses is still in Shanghai? Its being delivered to the UK, and I dont see how its going to be here by wednesday (est shipping date by apple).

How long does it usually take from "Shipped From Originating Depot" to being delivered?

Its driving me crazy. I just want to know where my MBP is and what its doing at the moment. According to the TNT website, its been flying for over 3 days now.

If it hasnt gone out of shanghai tomorrow im going to ring TNT and ask them where it is and what there ETA is, because at the moment apples 8th seems very unlikely if it hasnt even left shanghai yet.

I'm in the same position as you, but i'm going to wait until tomorrow (Monday).

I think that this is because tracker information is more likely to be updated on a weekday after a weekend.

People have reported seeing nothing new on a tracker all weekend, to suddenly find that their MB is in their country already.

If you're using the apecode.com to track be aware that this may no longer track your package after it has reached the airport, so check the TNT or UPS site as they may fly it direct from that point.

Well I havent been using Apcode because when I type my number in it doesnt say anything, so been using TNT. I really hope that this is the case, as I really dont want to be waiting years for my laptop. I think if it hasnt updated by tomorrow afternoon, im going to ring TNT and ask them where it is.

Are you in the UK? Why dont you ring apple about it? Seems as something has gone wrong along the line somewhere. What was your ETA?

yes it was a uk he order, though from what ive read elsewhere on this forum, that is no reason for it to be late. ill see whether the tracking is updated tomorrow. the original eta was meant to be the 3rd, but now it shows the 9th. its quite depressing really, i needed the mac by this weekend to get some work done and time is slipping away. ive a feeling it'll arrive on tuesday, but still, im thoroughly unimpressed with this whole situation :(

Ordered from UK, too. "Potential Line Haul delay at Pudong" - now 4 days since Nov 2. Neither TNT nor Apple online have had any further updates. Had to phone Apple and they will escalate this. It has definitely added 4 days to the ETA according to the helpdesk. Anyone in the same boat should probably start phoning Apple or TNT. I would presume that this is also holding up all subsequent orders going via the same route, which is why a lot of stuff is not shipping at all.

Just annoys me that they dont tell me these things. It doesnt say anything like that on the TNT or apple tracking website, and when I enter my details into the appletrack thing it doesnt have any info what so ever. Its now 2 days until my ETA, and its not looking good. What really takes the biscuit is that on the apple websie it still says:

BRIGHTON, GB 02 Nov 2006
Estimated Delivery Date 08 Nov 2006 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule

Now, if im correct, the shipment is not on scedule, and my ETA is no longer the 8th. I can see it getting to the 8th with no change, and nothing changing what so ever with the ETA (Which is bad, as people may decide to book the day off work to recive their new laptops).

It's probably better to buy from a store, but I had to buy online to get the Edu discount. :/

Mine's a stock model - which they should have a store of in Europe somewhere IMHO.

There better not be any problems with this machine or I will go ape (and then probably have to wait a few weeks for a replacement). *Touch wood* there will be no problems.

Yes was also considering this, but, when I phoned up the shops, they werent sure when they would get some in stock, so I decided to order online, and ring and see if they had them in stock, but it turned out that the online order shipped the day after I ordered, so was to late to phone around by then. Also, I wanted the edu discount, and as im not 18 yet, they probably wouldnt have given it to me, so just ordered online.

I really just feel helpless. My New laptop that I have paied good money for is stuck all the way in china, and no body knows when its coming, the trackers dont update or change, and I dont suppose phoning TNT will do anything either, as they probably just has the same info as I do!

Update. Apparently My (and my friends) laptops are in Frankfurt, and are shipping to UK tomorrow. For some reason, the tracking system hasnt been updated. I might just ring TNT to confirm this.

Gotta say, I've ordered quite a bit from the Apple online store to the UK now and, while the tracking from the couriers has sometimes been a little sketchy, everything has either come on the Apple-specified date or before.

I know it's tough waiting for new kit, and Apple's shipping times to the UK could definitely be improved, but the service isn't all that bad.

That's mine, going to the UK. Called Apple just now, its in England, literally an hour from my house. So the tracking is misleading. Its still estimated to be delivered on the 8th though...

Thats so annoying Sax - I hate that UPS insist on a delivery before you can pick it up from their depot. Do you know if the depots open late? Perhaps you could drop out there tomorrow afternoon, if they leave their card?
