I was gone a few weeks and now my the mail on my Imac shows 1530 messages in the dock. I have tried to erase everything, tried to say all is read and nothing helps. What have I done wrong? And how to fix it?

After doing all that, have you restarted it?

Don't bother with it. Just think to yourself that you are an important enough person to have 1530 people email you personally. :)

Did you close the Mail app after marking them read and then start it up again?

If it's a POP account - it can send all your messages to your mail account like they've never been 'read' before - because technically with POP - they haven't.

Try setting up your account again and providing more information to us here on the forums if you still have a problem.

Okay, this is the mail that came on the IMac. it was fine until I was gone a few weeks and now has this troubling number, 1515 at the moment on top of the icon. I just do not know what to do. The POP was an interesting read but how do you access it and delete or show as read? Or can you? It is a jungle out there for me.....HELP!
