Hi all. I've noticed over the last few days that my Mac (2019 i9 16") is waking itself from sleep. I believe it's started happening since I've been leaving it plugged into my monitors overnight. I put it to sleep (lid stays open), go to bed, and in the morning it's awake on the login screen.
The displays are USB-C and provide PD, which I think may be relevant here.

Running "pmset -g log | grep -i 'wake from'" I can see a bunch of DarkWakes, but I think that's fine, what I'm concerned by is a "Wake from Deep Idle".
Here's the full 'wake from' log from last night:

Does anyone know what's causing this? Is it truly waking itself simply due to a change in the state of charge?

Any thoughts, advice, pointers will be much appreciated.

Cheers, Raf.

I don't know for certain, but I would opine that your monitors are not actually the most likely culprit. I'd look for any software that uses the internet, and that is still active overnight.

As one obvious example, is your Mac logged into your iCloud account? And did you receive any text messages overnight? Even if you have Messages silenced on the Mac, it might still be enough to wake the computer from its slumber.

I agree, I don't think the monitors are a likely culprit, just an odd coincidence! :) I had a look but couldn't see anything that I imagined would keep it awake or wake it. I am logged into iCloud, but I don't have an iPhone and don't use iMessage, so I don't think it'll be that. Thanks for the tip though!

Got to ask the obvious: did check that "Power Nap" is off?

And if so, maybe toggle to on, back out of that settings screen, then toggle back off, just to be safe/make sure that the plist is correct.

Power Nap is off as a precaution, though I was always led to believe that it shouldn't actually keep the laptop awake, just temporarily "half-wake in the background" (for want of a more technical term...) and then go back to sleep.

I'll try toggling it on and off again, cheers.

Here's Apple's description of Power Nap:

I found that page with search terms: apple power nap

Other articles in the search results might provide more info.
