Why is Sapphire HD7950 so expensive on eBay?

There's two listings in the $1,200+ range for the HD7950:

Yet, both NewEgg and Amazon have these cards in stock at ~ $440. Is the market for these cards seriously going to shoot up that much?

I was thinking more along the lines of buying 5 or so from NewEgg and sitting on them on eBay for a few months

He didn't actually. If you click on the "X Sold" link it'll show you the sale price. The cards sold were at a reasonable ~ $500.

Not sure I'd risk it, but if you did buy it from newegg. They are giving away 3 free games right now.

If you can't sell at the markup that this guy is trying you can probably still get what you paid, maybe even a little extra.

Guys, I'll let you in on an EBay secret. When you run out of stock on something you can either remove the listing and pay to put it back up when you get stuff in.

Or you can jack the price up to where nobody outside of the government would pay for it and avoid the relisting fee and bother. When you get stock in you put price back to sane level.
