Given the recent AirPower disaster, I'm now still looking for a decent charger mat that is also compatible with the AW4. If I understand it correctly, the AW4 is the only Apple Qi product that requires a MFI certified charger. Isn't that a bit weird? And: Is there a list of officially supported AW4 charger?

Because not all Qi chargers work with it? I have 3 different brand Qi chargers and none of them charge my Series 4. TBH I don't even know if they should (thought that was where AirPower was supposed to excel, lol)

That's exactly the point: They "don't work with it" but only since an update of the WatchOS. Prior to that, they were working fine - I have a 3rd party charger that I can't use anymore since that update. My wife has the AW3, for her it still works as intended. So it seems like it's a software change at Apple to sell more MFi certificates...
