In addition to that, why is "photoanalysisd" using 200%+ of my CPU? I assume its just going through my library since I came from iPhoto and 10.9.5 but I also read people who have 6gb libraries had this go on for days and never quit.

That sounds strange, my Dock only use 65MB memory, and my wife's profiles only 47MB. Restart doesn't help?

On the other hand, the photoanalysisd using 200% CPU is normal. It's scaning through your photo library to create the new "memory" album. It cost >72hours to finish scan through my 70K photos (with a 3.46GHz CPU).

Do you have a lot (and I mean a lot) of icons/applications/folders in the dock? Could be that they're all just indexed, if the RAM is available for it to do so.

What you should be looking at is memory pressure. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. So while some processes may take up unexpectedly large amounts of RAM, often they'll give up most of it for higher priority processes.
