I was going to get an MBP but have since settled on the MB for price, battery life and size reasons.

My question:

Why is a white MBP with 2.16 GHz, 2 x 1 GB RAM, 160GB @ 5400 RPM & AppleCare $1798 but the same setup on a black MacBook is $1923?

Is there a better video card or something other than what is listed in the black MacBook?

^ $200 paint job. Apple took a page out of the Black and Red U2 iPod and saw that people would be willing to pay more for a different colored item.

Much appreciated. Now I'll laugh when I see people with the black MB's.

Can't laugh at that guy who got a refurbished one for $109. In fact I'm sure of it that he got the last laugh. I'm so bitter I hope he sharted himself whilst engaging in laughter.

Where did you get $200? The difference between the two prices you listed is $125. I agree you should'nt have to pay a premium for a color, but I got my Blackbook refurbished for less than a comparable new white one.

I just looked quickly and wanted to figure out the price difference. It wouldn't matter if it was $50, I'd not pay more.

I just bought an new, "old" 2.0ghz black macbook off of Amazon for only $1099. Although it STILL hasn't been shipped. My patience is running thin.

Prior to May 15th, the difference was just $50. If you'll remember, when the macbooks first came out, the price difference for exactly the same setup was $150.

When I purchase my new (black) Macbook for college in a couple of weeks, I'm going to pay the extra $200 because I just feel like the white would get especially dirty. I'm pretty anal about that sort of thing, so just the ability to hide whatever dirt/oil/whatever that transfers from my hands onto my computer more so than the white is worth the extra $$ in my opinion!

Ooooh, your BlackBook is gonna get so greasy if you're worried about those things. BlackBooks show grease a lot more than the WhiteBooks.
