Why it takes so long to sync between iPhone 6s+ and Photo on my Mac?

Hello, usually after I connected my iPhone to my rMBP, old photos showed up but it took a few minutes for the latest photo to show up in the Photo app. Unplugging and plugging the lighting cable does not help. How come?

Same problem here. Syncing via Mac seems absolutely unpossible right now.
