I’ve been wanting to understand this since I took out an AM sub about a year ago. I also have iTunes Match as annual sub. If I get rid of Match then the only downside I can see is that I no longer have a backup of my separately owned CDs. If there was a loss of some sort then with Match I would have a copy in lossy format on the Apple servers, but what else does Match provide over and above Apple Music, apart from being able to burn CDs?

Many thanks.

I cancelled iTunes Match at the end of last year after speaking to a couple of Apple people, they mentioned that iTunes Match is basically included in Apple Music. I wasn't sure at first but went their advise, I haven't experienced any issues, I've even uploaded a couple of purchased CD's recently and they all sync'd across my Apple devices.

If you have Apple Music, you don't need to subscribe to iTunes Match unless you still need to access your iCloud Music Library on a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV.
