Am I missing something? I have both the 3g and 2g phones here and ran Pwnage on my 2g as a test before going to the 3g.

Cydia has ONE game. I also see no means of adding my wallpapers for a background or prettying it up. I see mostly developer type tools or higher level 'unfun' stuff.

I was told the apps would be ready for 2.0 because the beta has been out for ages now. Is it because they have to be written in consideration of Pwnage?

I also see no unlock app. I selected "no" for the 'Are you a legit AT&T user' question but can't tell if it's unlocked or not and see no tool.
Basically, right now, there's not one app I would download that would be of any use like Parking Lot.

Surely I am missing something - but what?

Well, by your own admission, there are not "No Apps" available. But in addition to the game you mention, there is a TZones hack that helped me...

And yes, there are a lot of Dev Tools. Does nothing for either of us... but I bet it will help get more apps faster.

You are missing something for sure- patience! A working jailbreak of 2.0 has been out not even 2 full days (and a weekend at that!), and you are upset there are only a couple apps so far? I think you are the unrealistic one. Apps will come.... just take a quaylude and relax.

So why jb now? Really no need unless you want that one game, or want 2.0 and are on TMo. But tomorrow, there will be 2 more games... the day after, 3 tweak apps, the day after, who knows. JB to be ready... or not, it's all up to you.

I was told the apps would be ready (for the most part) because 2.0 beta has been out for ages. Oh well. I mostly did my old 2g phone as a test before trying it on my 3g. My plan was to jailbreak AND unlock the 2g then sell.

Am I correct there's no way to unlock a 2g phone with the new pwnage? That only the $6 t-zones hack works for T-mobile users using t-zones? What about t-mo users with a full data plan? etc. And no unlock for other countries?

I really dont understand these ignorant posts. Its not Cydias fault there arent apps on there... Its only putting up apps that are compatible. Therefore, its the PROGRAMMERS FAULT THEY CANT FULFILL YOUR 24 HOUR DEADLINE FOR JAILBROKEN APPS...

Christ... stupid post.

Still, you would want to test out on the final version... and make any changes necessary. As I recall, pwanage said it worked with 2.0 beta, but it still took 8 days after the final was released to get pwnage.

No, you are NOT correct. My 2g (1st gen) iPhone is pwned and unlocked on 2.0 and working quite well on TMo with TZones.

Again, wrong. The 19.99 plan works well, too.

And no unlock for other countries?

Unlocked is unlocked. You cannot unlock for USA and it remain locked in England or China or wherever.

OK thanks - so in order to unlock it, I'm to select the $5.99 t-zones app. Correct? If it does everything as you say, they sure didn't pick a good title for it.

Who blamed or dissed Cydia? No one. Hence 'who's' post is really the stupid one?

Cydia has more than one game then? Seems to me I'm just stating a fact. It's a FACT there's hardly anything in Cydia. Period.

Umm would you prefer the nothing installer has because it doesnt even work yet? How long has the 2.0 jailbreak been released? 24 hours? Seriously man, wtf do you want people to do? You want programmers to GUESS how to port their stuff to the phone without it being released?

Cydia is only showing 2.0 compliant items, thats why there is nothing on it yet.

Thought it was obvious, guess not!

So there's no point in jailbreaking for most people right now unless for the unlock. Sorry if the fact that there's hardly any apps upsets you so.

WTF are you delusional?! YOU are the one whining about no apps.... Wow... You are strange.

The jailbreak was out for 24 hours now, and there are no apps... YA DONT SAY...

I wish you were a programmer and your boss came in and wanted you to port your application to an entirely new OS, and gave you 24 hours to do so.

Seriously, use your brain, im done arguing. I just cant even fathom what you are thinking when you post.

I posted a similar question on MMI, without beforehand considering those who wish to unlock their 1st gen iphones running 2.0. Of course for these people, Pwnage is essential.

For those of us who are with AT&T, no, there is no real reason to JB yet, unless you're a developer who needs the tools Cydia currently has to offer. Of course that hasn't stopped a ton of people trying to JB their phone with Pwnage, then crying about their "bricked" (which it rarely is) phone, pleading for help in all caps, and wondering why they bothered to do it at all when they find out they can't install their favorite Chuck Norris theme.

There is no Installer for 2.0, yet. No Summerboard, no Customize, no "fun" apps, unless you consider SSH'ing into your phone fun. Some do.

It would be nice if there were fun JB apps to add to 2.0. But there aren't. Hopefully there will be sooner than later. Hurry up and wait. In the mean time, keep your eye on this thread.

Doesn't jailbreaking allow apps to run in the background? This is not allowed with app store apps. That flexability may be key for certain functionality.

Dont know about you but I'm really pleased that I can now play NES with my iPhone 3G, no complaints here.

Posters such as the thread starter are whiny little babies. Oh no, there are no apps. Oh no, the developers that are doing it in their spare time for FREE aren't going fast enough for me. It's all about you isn't it?

What are you contributing to the community? You think they owe you anything? No, they don't. If you don't like the jailbreak don't use it.

Yeah I miss the apps on installer, but they will come. Be patient.

And posters such as you who also clearly failed Reading Comprehension 101 and attack people for things they didn't say - are (insert fun negative word of choice here).

Grow up.
