Hi, I am using Safari 13.1.2 on High Sierra. My Mac keeps asking me to install the latest version of Javascript. Even on macrumors under Forums, it keeps telling me that "Javascript is disabled. For a better experience, please enable Javascript in your browser before proceedings". Didn't Javascript removed by Apple as it is a security risk?

Another strange thing is that if I go to www.google.com and search for something, hitting the return key did not initiate the search but the search bar became like a word processor. The cursor just moved down and waited for my next typing. What is wrong here?

Go to your Safari settings - security and enable Javascript. It's not removed. Most modern websites need that to function.

Thanks. Isn’t Javascript dangerous and Apple removed it years ago?

Do you mean the removed Adobe Flash due to its proprietary standard and security risk? Javascript is a different thing.

Probably I got confused between the two but I think I read that both have been causing security risks.

You may be thinking of Java. This can be confusing, but Java is something completely different from Javascript.
