Why complain? If there aren't rumors now, wait a few days, come back, and maybe there will be one. The mini isn't as high demand as an iMac or Mac Pro, both have been neglected for a long time and have been getting apple into hot water with the buyers

I think I may just pull the trigger this weekend, the only thing stoping me is the fact that I'm missing the mouse for it.

If you look an all the iPhone 5 rumors, they only seem to leak everything but Minis. Maybe that means something ...
Truthfully, there are very few rumors for any of Apple's computers and especially not their desktops. I suppose a lot has to do with the volume sold. iOS devices out sell their PC's exponentially therefore a lot more people care about what is in the next iPhone, iPad, etc. than they do about spec bumps in their computers. It just isn't as interesting. Even when there is a whole new form factor for one of their computers (i.e. 2010 MBA, 2012 rMBP, etc.), it doesn't get nearly the attention as a the internal ribbon cable that connects the volume buttons to the motherboard of the iPhone. Sad but true....
This just in, mac mini's refresh due in 12th of Septenever...does that make a difference?

I do everything I can do. But believe it or not, there are some works I CAN'T do on my current Mac because it's too slow ...
You keep saying this Poki. If you ate losing money on your current setup, why not buy the current model. If the new one comes out in less than 2 weeks return the old and buy the new. If the new one doesn't come out for 2 months then the amount of money you make in that time frame should offset any loss you have by selling the 2011 model and upgrading to the 2012. Just saying....
That's a point. However, I'm not alone and with some help some months aren't a problem at all. Like I said I need it until next spring, so I hope for a update until then.
This is just my spec but they did the laptops back in June, I think we'll see desktops in September including the Mini but NOT the Pro. Apple already 'upgraded' that and they will have to wait until 2013 for more.
I think we'll see Ivy Bridge in the iMac and Mini in the coming months, before the new year. Just a pity they will miss the US back to school surge in sales. With all the rumors of updates for the iMac you'd have to be living in a cave not to know something is coming. The same cam be said about the Mini. From memory the last update with Lion came out of the blue for many, not expecting an update at that time... and they dropped the DVD.

Really? Then they didn't need a Mac Pro to start with, the Mac Pro is much much more powerful hardware wise than the mini is.
But they haven't updated anything in the Pro since 06, I think at this point any Mac mini is more powerful than an 06 Pro.
Didn't you hear, the rumor the Mini will be cancelled has been around since 2005.
He said the current Mini is speedier than a 2006 Pro. In 2006 we had the peak of computers: they were the biggest and the hottest (some kids had ones that pushed 1Kilo-Watt PSU's to the max). After 2006, hardware shrunk faster than we could keep up with in our software demands. So hardware will shrink the coming years, and the entry models will give sufficient power for 99% of users. Combine that with that Apple stopped making an OS for pro's (Microsoft is on that roadmap too!), and the MacPro can be considered dead as a DoDo.
In 2015 serious companies will need to run Linux on generic small boxes, with VM-machines for specific programs. For example a Snow Leopard VM with Adobe CS, a Windows XP VM with Autocad, and all business administration stuff in a webbrowser on a local PHP/MySQL server.

Your argument is invalid, because people keep doing new things on their computers. For example, in 1979, Bill Gates went on record saying 260K RAM should be enough for anything anyone wants to do on their computer. Right.

About the only creditable thing from what you said is Bill Gates. It was rumored to have happened in 1981 and the amount of RAM was 640K. To this day Bill Gates denies ever saying it and there is no proof to validate that he did.
