Is there a technical reason why the "Send Later" option is not available when sending messages in RCS? The option is only available for iMessages.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I would imagine that the "Send Later" option makes use of local device to initial the actual send, rather than server side. If that is the case, the option to "Send Later" looks like should be available for RCS messages. Or, is it the case that "Send Later" is a function of remote servers and not local device?

Curious to know as I want to understand this. I love the Send Later feature because often I see something I want to share but don't need to disturb everyone's phones at the moment. For example, I might see a funny video clip in the middle of the night that I want to share but don't need people's phones binging with notifications in the middle of the night. I can use the Send Later feature to send the message at a better hour of day and also not to have to remember to share the link later.

You hit the nail on the head. "Send Later" messages sit on the server to be delivered - they aren't sent later by the device itself. As such, RCS/SMS/MMS do not have that functionality.

Huh, interesting indeed! Thanks for the information.

I guess it does make sense that this is a server-side feature because a device that has been turned off or doesn't have connectivity at the time it needs to send can be a problem. Still...ugh...

We were just discovering this problem. Damn Android users screwing everything up! If you have an all iPhone group chat does it work correctly?
