Why No Spotify APP on the Mac APP store ?

Why is there no Spotify APP for the Mac in the Mac APP store ? there isn't right ? I know it can be downloaded from the Spotify Website but why is it not on the Mac APP store ?

Yes...I suppose if the app came via the App Store then subscriptions would have to be processed via the App Store.

Is this true? I believe it is only if signups/purchases were allowed *in app.* For instance, the Kindle and Amazon apps for the phone won't allow you to buy books, instead directing you to the website to buy them.

Their app likely doesn't follow Apples restrictions for software in the app store.
