Why object dock on iPhone is not rounded in iOS 11?

Anyone else wonder why the object dock in iOS 11 isn't rounded on an iPhone like it is on the iPad. I prefer the rounded look, it works with the app shape better. Maybe the new iPhone 8 with its potentially rounded edges will get the rounded dock, just seems odd.

Well the iPhone doesn't have a floating dock. So there isn't a need for rounded corners.
