Why pickup at Apple store became unavailable for customized Mac Mini M4?

Hello, there was no such problem in the past. Anybody knows what is wrong?

I asked Apple and the chat employee said that any customized Mac is not available for pick up. This is ********.

Custom Macs can still be picked up in store.

You select where you want to pick it up when ordering on the website. Couldn't be much simpler.

I just started configuring a Mac Mini M4 (not Pro) with 32GB/2TB and 10GBit Ethernet (just to make a random custom config that would usually not be bought. I was given an option to pick up at the store closest to me (after Christmas though).

Are you in the US?

I am not in the US but I have customized Mac and picked up in local stores many times without issue until yesterday. I was able to do it even two weeks ago.

You do not give much details about the way you ordered. Here in the Netherlands I can order online in the Apple store and choose to pick it up in a brick and mortar (Apple) store or have it sent to my (home) address.

When I look at my local store (UK), anything custom can be picked up in-store. The earliest date is currently 6th Jan 2025.
