Hi, ironically, on my MBP, I have more issues with Safari than other browsers. How come Safari has issues that other browsers don't? For example, for the past two weeks I keep getting NSPOSIXErrorDomain:24 when using Safari. However, FireFox runs fine. Why Apple does not get these issues ironed out?

There are two main causes of this connection problem: a) a third-party firewall application, and; 2) an Internet security program [for example, Intego Mac applications such as Net Nanny or VirusBarrier]. What hardware, OS and Safari version version are you using?

I used Intego about 20 years ago but have not used it for many years. I am not aware that I have installed a third-party firewall application or other Internet security program.

I am using a MacBook Pro 16" 2019, BigSur 11.4 and Safari 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)

No "issues" here with 11.4 and Safari 14.1.1
However, it does appear to be an Intego problem:

Thanks. I searched my Mac for Intego stuff but there is nothing. However, following your link, I cleared all cookies and it seems to have fixed the issue. I will report back if there is any problem again. Thanks

That "NSPOSIXErrorDomain:24" no longer shows up after I cleared all cookies. However, I still see the colorful beach ball many times daily and it slows down the machine a lot.

I run into the occasional site that works incorrectly in Safari. My first move is to reload with content blockers disabled. If that doesn't work, I just shrug and fire up my secondary backup browser (Brave, currently) and move on.

Safari is always my first choice but I guess some sites just aren't as compatible with it.

Yes, some websites still have issues with Safari. I have to switch browser in that case.

I am glad to report that after upgrading to 11.5, I have not seen the beach ball for the past two days.
