Earphone is design like airpod pro with the soft plastic part. I try earbud with hard plastic only and there is no way to feel comfortable and let it stays firm in my ear even I just sit there.

Both 2nd or 3rd airpod are earbud and I have no idea why so expensive with this kind of uncomfortable and not practical design.

Yeah there is pro but so expensive, I can buy a Tao Bao brand with 80% quality of airpod pro with 5% of pro price while it is a comfortable earphone design. It works with non apple device too. This kind of $10 earphone quality is really not bad, I use one for 3 years almost everyday and the battery is still strong and even I drop it countless time while I run or whatever.

It’s great that there are different designs to suit different tastes and requirements, right?

Personally, I cannot stand the Pro-style design, I find it sweaty and uncomfortable, which is a shame since I love the noise-cancelling.

The standard AirPods, on the other hand, are comfortable and haven’t fallen out once in six (?) years.

If you do not think the sound quality or the connectivity features are worth the price, just get the alternative. For me, what I get for the money is absolutely worth it.

I gave up on airpods, period. None of them have fit my ear correctly and I have tried all three sizes of the cups and even bought the memory foam ones and was still having the airpods fall out and not fitting properly. I will not buy another pair.

Recently purchased the MAX and WOW! Had been using the latest Sony NR headphones but Apple‘s is far superior in sound quality and NR.

I agree they are uncomfortable and they always fall out.

To an extent I agree. I tend to lose these things too frequently to spend a lot of money on them — and besides, sound quality while on a busy street is never going to be great.
I will rather spend the money on equipment I use indoors.

Yup. They never fit.

It's easy to be cheaper when you have minimal R&D costs because you stole other people's designs, used cheaper materials, and have much less overhead.

Yeah I don’t mind if 5% cost offers me 80% quality of the best and it comes with soft plastic in ear design that works with my ear not like 2nd 3rd AirPods

Well to be honest, AirPods Pro sound quality is not great to begin with. Any decent IEM maker will sound far better than them.

They're practical, they do great Noise Cancelling for the size, but it is not a product recognized for sound quality (unlike the AirPods Max, who are often lauded for their sound quality when compared to Sony and Bose offerings).

I honestly don't understand why even have noise cancelling for this kind of portable earphone. Using noise cancelling on streets with possible dangers in surrounding increases the risk a lot. Yeah my $10 earphone don't have this for sure but I really don't want it.

They are excellent for buses and subways.

When in traffic transparency mode is safer than "normal" earbuds.

Even for flying they are great, because they allow you to lay your head however you wish to get some sleep, which other designs will not, even if they do not provide the same level of isolation as over-the-ear cups can.

Also, for people who must wear glasses, over-the-ear noise cancelling cups are not always the best choice as they can both leak sound and become very uncomfortable with prolonged use.

Yeah my $10 earphone don't have this for sure but I really don't want it.

That's great, saves you boatloads of cash!

We're all different, and that's why there are options.
When Apple launched the original AirPods and said they'd checked the design on ten thousand ear types, not one of those ear types were mine. I gave up trying to use any of the wired Apple EarPods or AirPods because the fit is awful (for my ears). Smile and they drop out, let alone if I actually move.
AirPod Pro's in-ear design is at least 1000x better for me.
Options = satisfied customers.
We're not all the same.
