Hi, I was using AirPods Max with my MBP in my room. Suddenly, for several times, iPad showed up on the top right of the screen and I lost connection between AirPods Max and the MBP. I went out and checked the iPad. A family member said he moved the iPad. What happened? How to prevent this from happening?

Do you have a screenshot?

Is the iPad paired with the Airpods, or within the same iCloud account?

I don't have a screenshot as it appeared very briefly and disappeared. I did not paired the iPad with the AirpodsMax but it might have done that automatically. It seems that if I put the AirpodsMax near an Apple device, they get paired quickly and automatically without my consent. All Apple devices at home are connected to the same iCloud account I believe.

If they’re all on the same icloud account, then they’re all paired. That’s the apple eco system, no conspiracy.

go on the ipad, and connect it to the airpods max, go into settings, bluetooth, then hit the little ’i’ icon next to the airpods, then change the ‘connect to this ipad’ setting from ‘automatically’ to ‘when last connected to this device‘

Thanks. Why somebody moved the iPad on the sofa outside my room (door closed) caused my AirPods Max to disconnect from my MBP and connected to the iPad?

They could’ve been watching a video, or been in a app that autoplayed something that made a sound.

happened to me too, and was really annoyed.

They were watching YouTube video on a TV via iPad's YouTube app. They chose the videos from the iPad and had them played on a Samsung TV.
