Also "calc" used to open Canary (Chrome) until I uninstalled it. Why? How can I fix this?

You post seems ambiguous to me. What are the (details) of the problem with Spotlight you are having? What are you expecting to show when you type Spot?

I'd be looking for a way to force spotlight to reindex your drive, I dont recall having any wierdness like that.

For those that cant see it, OP is asking why entering "spot" returns a Top Hit of Safari, and not Spotify....

Had the exact same problem with Spotify, AppCleaner (opens Activity Monitor), etc. Don't remember how I got rid of it though. I probably just reindexed spotlight with Onyx.

Thank you for clarifying and sorry to others, it was bad communication on my part. Yes, I find spotlight often makes very strange choices for top hit (I use Spotify a lot more than Safari, too!)

I will look into reindexing my drive, thank you.
