Apologies for the inflammatory title.

I know that people are sick of hearing that the phone is the 4g. We know it is the 4g. If was in a photo 3 months ago. It is in the wild now. The design is probably finalized by now (or close to finalized).

People are saying, principally in this thread, that there is no way Apple would allow this "blocky design" through, and that it would constitute a step backwards and look like a "1st gen phone as opposed to a 4th gen".

I respectfully disagree.

The iPad has almost exactly the same design, albeit the curved back. Black front and a flat gray (aluminium or gray ceramic) side perpendicular to the front.

The new design is thinner than the 3GS.

The new design appears to be glass front, gray ceramic or aluminium side. This is in the Macbook Pros (metal, glass, full stop). This is in the iPad.

The seams might or might not disappear, due to the product being in testing stage. They might magically open the device to reveal a removable battery, as is mandatory in upcoming EU regulations.

The might be vents for the A5 processor people want. /sarcasm

Cam on the front, matches iChat references found in 4.0. Flash on the back, seperate volume buttons (use as trigger for camera?)

Completely off subject, doesn't the phone look like the N78?

i dont think this is the design apple would go with ,
too many small parts on its cover , apple believes in simple design , i dont think they will UNLEARN what they took years to learn :p

My apologies, I was trying to make two seperate posts (which go in completely separate directions). If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

Well, if you meant it to go in another direction, then it's in the right place, I suppose (however, it seemed to be a rebuttal to that thread). The amount of threads that go into this in some respect are getting to be ridiculous though.

All they need to do is to close the seams.

Nice break from Macbook Pro complaining and iPad hysteria. :p
