There have been a lot of people saying on these forums that we should stop looking forward to the PPC970 being released at WWDC or at all and it is being too optimistic.
Well Apple has to release something big at the WWDC because they got it moved to another date so they could show product there. I dont think they only get the date moved to show of Panther because if it was not ready they could have just shown a preview of what to expect. Also Apple normally says if a rumor that gets out of hand and is false. They said a year ago just before a MacWorld that they were not going to release any new hardware becasue lots of rumor sites and then the computer press thought they were.
Of cource Apple could not be saying anything about the rumors becasue they are not true, but that would be stupid and if Apple did not have a new processor in Macs by the end of the year it would lose all its power users to the fast PCs. The G4 will not even be at 2Ghz by 2004.
