Fake! I saw a picture of something exactly like that except it was at an Apple store and it was showing off the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Also, even if it was real and it was a Windows product that was used on that display it is not a full blown operating system, let alone Windows Mobile. Get your facts straight before you go bashing companies/products you know nothing about. You make the rest of us here look dumb and immature.
As others have noted, Apple themselves used Windows XP computers in some of their giant iPhone displays. Made sense... they're the cheapest and fastest computer for playing back Flash videos.
Likewise, Apple uses Windows CE handhelds in their stores for mobile checkout, because they don't have a comparable device of their own to use.
As for a BSOD, the only one I've seen in the past ten years of heavy PC work usage was because of iTunes.

WRONG. The claim that Apple use windows xp computers is complete BS. Ever heard of Mac Mini or Mac Pro? The iPhone displays are connected to Mac Pros.
