For more then an hour at a time.

I am using it as an itunes server mind you but it should be able to sleep then be woke up by a request by my phone remote or my apple tv. But it keeps waking up.

I have wake on lan turned on. If I turn this off will i still be able to access my itunes share?

in the console it tells me wake reason (network) I expect this but why wake up? i'm not home and not using anything

and previous sleep cause : 5

I am beginning to think I can't have the machine go to completely asleep and still have access to my itunes share.

It wakes to let the network know it still exists. as long as it wakes and then goes back to sleep shortly after then its normal.

And I am finding that out that homesharing, and the bonjour sleep thingy is probably what I am seeing...

yea thats the problem i can't seem to figure out.. it doesn't look like it goes back to sleep right away. should it say awake for the duration that i have it set for?

Something is probably pinging it on the network waking it back up.

I've found that I shouldn't expect much out of Wake on LAN because of this. It's too easy for the machine to get woken up from random things.

Should stay awake for a minute or two then go back to sleep, do a pram reset and smc reset if this isn't the case.

And its getting worse, won't sleep for more then 10 minutes...very frustrating. I have not dived into that solution yet. looking at it more indepth now

I tihnk i might do a fresh install again, although if I restore from a time machine backup won't that carry over all my settings?
